These long versions are for the short hook handles. Hence the name X-Stiff Short Shank Aligner. The short hook shank is considerably lengthened by this aligner and so the hook tip turns a lot faster, because the shank becomes fictionally long. The advantage is that during the drill the Aligner extends and thus the power of a short stem is created. Perfect!
