Description

Care must be taken when handling this item. The fixed blade makes the knife safer to use with its twist block mechanism because you can lock the blade either open or closed and it can be folded very easily for carrying in your pocket. The stainless steel version of the blade against the carbon steel blade is easier to look after. The latter is easier to sharpen but prone to rusting if not wiped and dried after use.

Opinel knives were invented in 1890 by Joseph Opinel in Savoie, France and come in differing blade lengths and proved popular with local farmers when they were first made. They were seen as a safe working knife.
