There is no mechanical safety system that guarantees the safety of an uncocked firing spring. The R8 is cocked the very moment before shooting. Should the shot not be taken, by simply pressing down on the cocking lever, it will slide back smoothly, decocking the rifle.
Even when in the bush, the R8 can be taken down and reassembled within a few seconds. Snow, dirt, leaves or needles are easily removed.

The Match barrel is designed for sport shooting and hunting with long distances. Depending on caliber and contour, it weighs approx. 200-300g (.50.lbs) more than a standard barrel. A fluted barrel is standard. This decreases cooldown time when shooting over longer periods of time due to an increased surface area, also the weight is reduced.
The original Blaser quality muzzle thread is fitted perfectly concentric on the barrel. Protective cap included.
